Casinos contribute $72 million to the state
(Baltimore) — Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $170,565,837 in gaming revenue during March 2022, the fourth-best single-month figure in the history of the state’s casino program. The total represents an increase of $1,386,821 (0.8%) compared to March 2021, when COVID-19 capacity restrictions were lifted.
Casino gaming contributions to the state in March 2022 totaled $71,970,242, an increase of $966,017 (1.4%) compared to March 2021.
Contributions to the Education Trust Fund (ETF) in March 2022 were $52,329,191, an increase of $700,595 (1.4%) compared to March 2021. Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
At the beginning of March 2021, the casinos were under a state-mandated 50% capacity restriction, which was lifted on March 12, 2021. Capacity limits for MGM National Harbor and Horseshoe Casino were raised from 25% to 50% during March 2021 under local jurisdiction orders.
Maryland’s six privately owned casinos offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

$67,786,963 in March 2022, an increase of $1,272,345 (1.9%) from March 2021
Live! Casino & Hotel (3,737 slot machines, 187 table games)
$62,085,488 in March 2022, an increase of $976,765 (1.6%) from March 2021
Horseshoe Casino (1,489 slot machines, 145 table games)
$18,880,533 in March 2022, a decrease of $903,310 (-4.6%) from March 2021
Hollywood Casino (700 slot machines, 18 table games)
$8,427,350 in March 2022, a decrease of $228,737 (-2.6%) from March 2021
Ocean Downs Casino (850 slot machines, 18 table games)
$7,726,391 in March 2022, an increase of $213,080 (2.8%) from March 2021
Rocky Gap Casino (627 slot machines, 16 table games)
$5,659,113 in March 2022, an increase of $56,677 (1.0%) from March 2021
