Maryland Casinos Generate $159.3 Million in Gaming Revenue During September

Casinos contribute $67.9 million to the state

(Baltimore) — Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $159,270,308 in gaming revenue during September 2022. The total represented a decrease of $6,117,730 (-3.7%) compared to September 2021.

Casino gaming contributions to the state in September 2022 totaled $67,958,645, a decrease of $1,029,079 (-1.5%) compared to September 2021.

Contributions to the Education Trust Fund (ETF) in September 2022 were $49,353,922, a decrease of $793,121 (-1.6%) compared to September 2021. Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

Maryland’s six privately owned casinos offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

The gaming revenue totals for September 2022 are as follows:

Live! Casino & Hotel (3,865 slot machines, 180 table games)
$56,833,665 in September 2022, an increase of $337,653 (0.6%) from September 2021

Horseshoe Casino (1,789 slot machines, 130 table games)
$17,260,444 in September 2022, a decrease of $271,856 (-1.6%) from September 2021

Ocean Downs Casino (847 slot machines, 19 table games)
$9,179,026 in September 2022, an increase of $144,830 (1.6%) from September 2021

Hollywood Casino (703 slot machines, 19 table games)
$7,058,162 in September 2022, a decrease of $406,973 (-5.5%) from September 2021

Rocky Gap Casino (670 slot machines, 16 table games)
$5,141,972 in September 2022, a decrease of $221,441 (-4.1%) from September 2021
